Fouad’s Dream

Fouad Sahyoun was born in Haifa in 1943. His family was forced to leave the country in the Palestinian exodus in 1948, arriving in Canada.

He discovers that the Windsor Hotel is for sale, formerly owned by his wife's family.  He sees this as an opportunity to re-establish himself in Haifa, to attract other Palestinian exiles back to the city and to establish business and cultural links between Montreal and Haifa…

biography

Born in Montreal, Martin Duckworth attended Yale and the University of Toronto. He worked for the National Film Office as cameraman until 1970. He has been independently making documentaries since then with around thirty to his credit and has been cinematographer on about 100 films.
