Bedouins appear in the Israeli collective consciousness as either "ethnographic" or "demographic" issues. Their representation keeps most Israelis from seeing them as people with hopes and dreams, frustrations and fears, possessing a past and a future. Five people whom history has cast in the roles of protagonists are antagonized by a state that has established itself on their ancestral lands. A film about people forced into the role of Bedouins - the only identity the State of Israel allows them, and the very identity it systematically denies them.
